Joyce Terwey

Joyce started in granite carving after the passing of her husband in 2016. She was always “artsy tartsy” but helping in designing her husband’s headstone totally inspired her etching medium. “The artist working on it showed me how and took me under her wing.” Since then, she was hooked. To tell a person’s “life story” in granite is very rewarding. She feels closest to her veteran images, working on the flying flag with stars, getting it to look like it is flapping in the wind, puts emotion into the stone. She became involved with this group to show Art is everywhere, especially in cemeteries.
